Do projects need to be deployed to live to be considered?

Hello. Iā€™m working on a project for the avalanche hackathon.
Do projects need to be deployed to live to be considered or can I deploy to the FUJI test net for the purposes of displaying the project?

I would think that it would be enough to be deployed on testnet.
