Wallet Connect not popping up

Out of no where ( I did not change my code ), authenticating using wallet connect stopped working in Brave (but still works in safari). I have this code:

console.log(ā€˜hereā€™);
user = await Moralis.authenticate({
signingMessage: ā€œSign this transaction to log inā€,
provider: ā€œwalletconnectā€,
})
.then(async function (user) {
console.log(ā€œhere againā€);
ā€¦
})
.catch(function (error) {
console.log(error);
});

but my dapp appears to freeze. the console outputs ā€œhereā€ but not ā€œhere againā€

Are you using the latest Brave browser version and Moralis/walletconnect packages/scripts? Are you able to get to the signing message process?

Yes they are the latest, and the signing message stuff does not work now but was initially now the popup does not even come up

Try clearing your appā€™s local storage (developer tools > Application tab > right click under Local storage). Do you get browser console errors?

This page works fine in Brave on my end:
